About New Vision Therapy Center

Where There Is Healing, There Is Hope.

New Vision Therapy Center was founded on a simple but deeply held belief: that every person deserves access to genuine, skilled mental health care — and that healing is possible for anyone willing to take the first step. Founded by Carly Stout, a licensed professional counselor and EMDR-certified therapist, New Vision has grown from a single practice into a team of dedicated clinicians serving clients across Texas and Colorado, both in person and via Telehealth.

We bring expertise across a wide range of concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, OCD, and more. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, we believe the best therapy is built around the individual. Every clinician on our team brings their own background, training, and perspective, united by a shared commitment to warmth, evidence-based care, and the kind of genuine connection that makes real progress possible.

We take pride in being an inclusive, affirming practice — LGBTQIA+ allied and welcoming of all identities, backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. Whether you're navigating a specific mental health challenge, working through the weight of past experiences, or simply feeling like you're not living the life you're meant to lead — there's a place for you here. We accept most major insurance plans and offer flexible scheduling to make care as accessible as possible.

With locations in Austin, TX and Denver, CO — and online sessions available throughout both states — New Vision is here to meet you wherever you are in your journey. Asking for help takes courage. We don't take that lightly, and we're honored to be part of the path forward.

AnxietyTraumaEMDRCouplesGrief

Carly founded New Vision in 2019 with a belief that processing unresolved trauma frees us to become our truest selves. She uses Gottman Method for couples and is EMDR certified. Licensed in Texas and Colorado.

Taking the first step to consider therapy can be exciting, nerve-wracking, and scary all at the same time. I like to establish a warm, genuine connection with my clients in order to cultivate a sense of trust and safety when we meet. I assist clients in establishing goals and milestones they would like to meet in life and create a plan to help them get there.

I believe that unresolved trauma and/or grief is often the reason we may feel hindered or stuck in life, and that by processing past hurts, losses, and traumas, we are more free to be the best versions of ourselves; our true selves. I believe through a lens of self-compassion and acceptance, we can begin to be more kind to ourselves and heal our critical inner voice. Getting clear about our values will help guide our actions, which in turn helps us create a purposeful life based on what we believe to be meaningful — not necessarily what the world, society, or family tries to tell us "should be" important.

In my work with couples I utilize the Gottman Method. The first session we meet together to get an idea of what needs to be improved upon, what issues bring you to couples therapy, and a general sense of how the interactions and communication are in the relationship. In the second session, we split our time with each partner for individual sessions and I continue my assessment on the pillars that research shows are most important to lasting relationships. In the third session, I share a detailed report assessing both your strengths and areas of growth as a couple so that we have a roadmap of goals to work towards in a tangible, productive way.

I have a professional background working in K–12 education, higher education, and counseling in the non-profit sector before I opened New Vision Counseling in 2019. I have received additional trainings in DBT, Gottman Method, trauma-informed care, and EMDR. In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature with my baby girl and small pup.

Kristy brings a person-centered, integrative approach drawing from CBT, DBT, EFT, and Narrative Therapy. A Latina therapist and mother, she is committed to honoring diverse backgrounds and offers unconditional positive regard to all clients.

We truly are all people hardwired for connection, but we live in a disconnected world where we inevitably accumulate burdens too heavy to carry alone. Therapy should be a place where someone joins you in that struggle and works towards helping you lighten the load that weighs you down. I also believe that everyone carries stories and experiences that shape who they are, and when those stories are told to a person who is able to give them sacred space, it can lead to a more whole and meaningful life.

Seeking therapy doesn't have to mean that something is necessarily wrong — it can also be an act of self-awareness and care. It can be a brave and empowering step toward healing, growth, and greater clarity. I personally find meaning in helping people better understand themselves, especially during times of change or transition. Whether you're coping with stress, loss, heartbreak, career shifts, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, we can work together to explore new perspectives and build tools that support your well-being.

I have experience working with individuals of all ages, but have specifically enjoyed working with families, couples, and young adults. I specialize in working with people dealing with complex grief, loss, career transitions, divorce, identity exploration, and mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, mood and personality disorders. I am also experienced in working with individuals who struggle with addiction, family dynamics, interpersonal struggles, and self-harming thoughts.

As a Latina, spouse, and mother, I bring lived experience to my work and am committed to honoring the diverse backgrounds of my clients. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and offer unconditional positive regard to all. My training includes CBT, DBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), all from a trauma-informed lens.

A former professional photojournalist turned therapist, Susannah brings a strengths-based, client-centered style to grief and loss, trauma, disordered eating, and couples work. MSW from UT Austin. Proud Longhorns fan.

Are you struggling with negative self-talk and debilitating thoughts and fears? Are you wading through the depths of grief and loss? Do you have difficulty effectively communicating your wants and needs in relationships? I'm here to help guide and support you on the journey of unleashing your innate emotional intelligence and resilience. I view my role as your co-pilot; together we can challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, bring awareness to how your past experiences inform your present self, and find freedom by responding to life's challenges in new ways.

My style is compassionate, down-to-earth, playful, and curious. I utilize a strengths-based, client-centered approach and invite collaboration every step of the therapeutic process. My areas of clinical focus include grief and loss, anxiety and depression, death and dying, trauma, sports psychology, and disordered eating. I also enjoy helping couples move from painful frustration toward healthy reconnection after a rupture.

I was inspired to enter the mental health profession by way of my own emotional transformations and life experiences. As a former professional photojournalist, I have documented some of the most beautiful and tragic parts of life. The common thread is that human emotions — from joy and awe to sadness, fear, and anger — are all an integral part of the human experience, and people want to be witnessed and supported through all of these.

My master's degree is in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. In my free time, you'll find me hiking with my pups, grabbing a smoothie at Juiceland, or attending a UT volleyball game (go Longhorns!).

I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen and be heard. I approach my clients with understanding, patience, kindness, and empathy. Talking to a therapist doesn't mean you are unusual or broken — it means you care for yourself and recognize the value that therapy can provide. Empowering my clients to navigate their lives with more awareness and tools allows them to grow into the healthiest version of themselves.

Reflecting and learning about ourselves can help us gain a greater sense of clarity and direction in our lives by helping us to identify our values, strengths, meaning and purpose. It can also help us develop a greater sense of trust, self-awareness and self-acceptance, which can lead to greater confidence, resilience and a fulfilling life.

The only constant in life is change. Whether it is job stress, the loss of a family member or pet, a breakup or divorce, an accident or incident, or managing your mental health, together we can work to explore ways to adjust, adapt, and begin a new path forward. I enjoy helping people manage periods of change and transition — from navigating dating and relationships to career pivots, pet loss, and thoughts of self-harm.

I offer unconditional regard to all my clients regardless of race, age, gender, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or religion. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and work with individuals and groups. I combine education, experience, and skills with evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Jenn believes we heal in connection with others. She creates a space of safety, acceptance, and genuine care — working with individuals and couples from all walks of life. MA from St. Edward's University. In-person availability in South Austin.

I've been where you are now and understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to seek support. I was twenty-something when life taught me strong relationships are the key to health and well-being. Neuroscience has proven this true — we are inherently wired for connection on a neurobiological level. Connection isn't a luxury, it's essential to our survival. Ironically, it's connection that can also be the source of our most profound pain and suffering.

No matter how deep the hurt or how great the loss, things can shift when we feel seen, heard, and understood by another. We heal in connection with others. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space that allows you to experience safety, acceptance, and compassion; a space for you to be courageous, vulnerable, and authentic; a space to experience hope and genuine connection.

I enjoy working with both individuals and couples from all walks of life. I am LGBTQIA+ allied, sex and kink positive, and I strive to be inclusive and affirming of all identities. You'll find that I'm curious and compassionate as we explore your thoughts, feelings, and relationships with yourself and the world.

I'm technically a native Texan, but claim roots in Memphis and California too. I graduated from St. Edward's University with my MA in Counseling and also hold an MBA from Texas State. In my past life, I was a 3rd-grade teacher with Austin ISD. I love running, reading, cupcakes, and dogs.

With nearly a decade working with individuals and couples, Joseph helps clients heal hurt and reclaim connection. Direct, warm, and occasionally truth-bomb honest. Licensed in Texas and Colorado. Online sessions available.

I have been working with individuals and couples since 2015, and I can help you move through and heal the hurt so you can get back to having a life of love and intimacy. It's really easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we are supposed to go it alone — and having other people walking alongside us can feel vulnerable.

Life is full of challenges; everything from parenting, to work stress, to finding the balance between work, life, and play. Things don't always need to be taken overly seriously, and sometimes the best treatment is finding something to laugh about.

Sometimes when our relationships break down, what we need is to heal on our own. Maybe you feel lonely and disconnected in your relationship, or maybe you struggle to see your own inner worth. Either way, asking for help can be hard. I'm here to be a support, a guide, and occasionally someone to drop a truth bomb or two on you.

I know what it's like to come back from a failed relationship. I can help you heal your relationship or I can help you recover from a broken one. Reach out and I will gladly walk with you and help your pain find its place.

Jarod is a certified EMDR therapist and qigong/tai chi instructor who brings a strength-based, eclectic approach to trauma, mood disorders, and emotional regulation. Also certified in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy. Online only.

I have years of experience working with adults from 18 and up, primarily individually, on a broad spectrum of issues and needs. My approach is eclectic with a strength and hope-based perspective on human capacity for healing and change. Collaboration is a focus in the work I do — I hold as a priority setting up a relationship with my clients that is a sacred space that belongs solely to them. A comfortable space where we can sift through the resources already present within and how to nurture what else may be needed for balance.

I believe we all have a true self within, so therapy is not giving a client something they do not already possess — rather, it is an uncovering and refining of what is already there. Decision-making and growth through life is possible when we have a chance to step back and evaluate with skilled, clear, and compassionate eyes how to proceed on our path.

My specialties combine over years of experience and education: I'm a mental health therapist with a focus on how emotional regulation is connected with somatic practice; I'm a certified EMDR therapist and qigong/tai chi instructor; and I have an emphasis in working with mood and substance use disorders. I am also certified in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, which emphasizes mindfulness as a resource that supports the efficacy of good mental health work.

A trauma-informed therapist with extensive crisis experience, Anne uses CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and DBT to help clients build self-awareness and break unhelpful patterns. In person and online. Accepts all insurances.

Life seldom goes smoothly. Dealing with its ups and downs can be hard — throw in a crisis or two and life can feel overwhelming. The stress of relationships, family, finances, school, and work can often reduce our ability to enjoy life. These stresses and experiences may leave us emotionally and physically drained and feeling helpless.

Therapy is a collaborative endeavor that thrives in an honest and open space free of judgment. I emphasize the importance of self-awareness as a tool for regaining power and recognizing patterns within yourself and your relationships — moving toward doing more of what is working and less of what is not.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I have extensive experience working with clients in crisis, experiencing violence (verbal, emotional, or physical) with family or relationships, and law enforcement secondary trauma, PTSD, and complex PTSD. I utilize a variety of techniques including CBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and DBT to assist those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and to address the challenges of ADHD and the development of healthy coping skills.

I'm passionate about working with individuals and couples using trauma-informed care and relationship-focused therapy. I enjoy using effective and creative tools by integrating somatic modality, parts work, and mindfulness. Just as seeds know how to sprout above the ground and leaves turn toward the sun without being taught, I believe we, too, hold that same inherent capacity to grow.

The difference is, with humans, that capacity can be hindered by physical, emotional, and psychological challenges. In my clinical and personal observation, our seeds have a much better chance of sprouting and growing when we feel truly seen and heard.

I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, and am bilingual in Japanese and English. I enjoy working with a diverse population. In area hospitals, I've worked with people at the end of life and find working with grief profoundly meaningful. Working closely with healthcare providers inspired my commitment to helping people manage burnout. It was my own history of trauma and journey to healing that led me to this profession.

While therapy can seem intense, I believe humor and playfulness are vital to the healing process. It's deeply rewarding to know that cultivating self-compassion and skills for my own growth can now support yours.

Finding the right fit for your mental health journey can be daunting. Therapy is vulnerable and powerful, and finding a person to support you in this is important. I can understand how hard it is to find a therapist that can relate and really understand. I have been there, and this is what led me to pursue a career as a Mental Health Therapist. After spending years in HR and in the education system I saw a need and desire to reach people on a deeper level and help them with areas of everyday struggles without the stigma of shame or judgment.

I pursued my calling and graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. By having worked in a school setting I can understand the struggles, pressure, and stress that youths are facing. In addition, I have also worked with adults with substance abuse and incarcerated individuals. With my vast experience working with many different ages and populations I am able to identify a person's needs and work with them in the change process by offering encouragement without judgment.

My approach to therapy is somewhat different. Yes, we do talk about feelings and emotions — however, I work with my clients through the change process and developing a better self. I start by developing a safe, comfortable environment and really get to know who my clients are. My clients would say that I challenge and empower them to make healthier emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and behavioral choices.

I am a mother of two active teenagers, so most weekends you will find me being the team mom at their events. I enjoy family time by hiking, cycling, paddle boarding, movies, and board games. My friends say I am a kid at heart and can see the good in every situation. My motto: "Live for Today."
