Contact SusannahMy Approach
My approach is strengths-based and client-centered. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to be a collaborative guide as you work through what's weighing on you.
In session, I aim to be compassionate and down-to-earth, with a playful, curious streak. Therapy can hold heavy things, and I think there's room for warmth and even lightness along the way.
I support clients navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders.
Areas of Focus
Beyond my core specialties, there are a few areas I'm especially passionate about.
Creating space to talk openly about mortality, end-of-life experiences, and the grief that comes with them.
Helping athletes manage performance pressure, identity, and the mental side of competition.
Supporting partners in understanding each other and finding healthier ways to connect.
Background & Training
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a professional photojournalist, an experience that taught me to listen closely and pay attention to people's stories. I earned my Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin.
In my free time, you'll find me hiking with my dogs, grabbing a smoothie at Juiceland, or cheering on UT volleyball.
